Overview
Fantasy Tennis features seven playable characters, each with their own appearance, background, and original character identity.
The playable characters are:
- Niki
- LunLun
- Dhanpir
- Lucy
- Shua
- Pochi
- Al
In older Fantasy Tennis versions, characters were more strongly associated with specific stat tendencies and intended play styles.
The four main attributes are:
- STR – Strength
- STA – Stamina
- DEX – Dexterity
- WIL – Will
Original Character Identity
In the original game, only Niki and LunLun were available by default, while the other characters had to be unlocked separately.
Older community documentation also described different character-based stat patterns at higher levels. These older patterns are best treated as references to the original character design.
Niki
Background
Niki is a mischievous boy from Gaia. Through a magical accident caused by LunLun, he is brought to Fantasy Land. In order to return home, he enters the Fantasy Tennis tournament and seeks the divine power of Isis.
Original Play Style
Niki was generally viewed as a balanced all-round character.
Older stat reference:
- STR-focused, but still balanced overall
- Often associated with an all-round play style
- Commonly treated as a beginner-friendly character
Because of his balanced identity, Niki was often seen as a safe choice for players who wanted flexibility without strong weaknesses.
LunLun
Background
LunLun is a young apprentice witch from Fantasy Land. While practicing magic, she accidentally transports Niki into her world. Feeling responsible, she helps him in his journey through the tournament.
Original Play Style
LunLun was usually seen as a balanced character with a slightly more defensive or supportive profile than Niki.
Older stat reference:
- Balanced distribution
- More associated with stability and survivability
- Commonly seen as another beginner-friendly option
Her original identity made her a comfortable pick for players who wanted a reliable and forgiving character.
Dhanpir
Background
Dhanpir is one of Gaia’s last vampires. He is described as 520 years old. After being killed by the vampire hunter Van Helsing, his soul was cursed to wander forever. He joins the tournament in the hope of becoming mortal again and taking revenge.
Original Play Style
Dhanpir was strongly associated with defensive play.
Older stat reference:
- Very STA-oriented
- Commonly linked to durability and defense
- Often viewed as a strong choice for survivability-focused builds
Because of this, Dhanpir was usually seen as a character for players who preferred endurance, resistance, and safer play.
Lucy
Background
Lucy is a pirate who once traveled Fantasy Land with her father, Ideran, aboard the airship Aeolos. After his disappearance, she joins the tournament in search of him and the treasures of Atlantis.
Original Play Style
Lucy was generally treated as an offensive power character.
Older stat reference:
- Strongly STR-oriented
- Associated with aggressive pressure
- Commonly linked to fast and powerful ball play
Her original design made her especially attractive to players who liked direct offense and harder-hitting play styles.
Shua
Background
Shua is an elf and one of the more mysterious characters in Fantasy Tennis. Public lore about her is more limited than for some of the other characters, but she is consistently listed as one of the seven playable characters.
Original Play Style
Shua was strongly associated with speed and dexterity.
Older stat reference:
- Highly DEX-oriented
- Commonly associated with mobility and fast technical play
- Often preferred by players who valued movement and speed
Because of this, Shua was usually seen as a character for more technical and fast-paced players.
Pochi
Background
Pochi is a halfling from the Arimu people. In older versions of Fantasy Tennis, Pochi was notable for being the only character specifically tied to AP purchase requirements.
Original Play Style
Pochi was mainly associated with WIL-focused play.
Older stat reference:
- Highly WIL-oriented
- Often linked to curve-heavy or trickier play
- Commonly treated as a more specialized character
This made Pochi a character for players who preferred spin, curve, and more technical ball pressure over raw power.
Al
Background
Al is a wooden puppet and one of the seven playable characters in Fantasy Tennis. Compared with some of the other characters, public lore about Al is relatively limited, but she remains one of the distinct roster choices.
Original Play Style
Al was usually associated with a hybrid DEX/WIL identity.
Older stat reference:
- Mixed DEX and WIL tendencies
- Often linked to mobility and control
- Usually seen as a more technical hybrid character
Because of this, Al was often treated as a character for players who preferred precision and control over straightforward power.
